The parents and citizens association (P&C) is a group of community-minded parents and citizens who take on a more formal role to assist the school.
The P&C provides:
- feedback on school policies and activities
- additional resources to be used to enhance student learning
- opportunities for parents to be involved in their child’s education.
Research has shown that parent involvement in a child’s education makes a significant contribution to the child’s success at school.
The objectives of the association are to promote the interests of and facilitate the development and further improvement of the school. We achieve this by promoting parent participation, encouraging close cooperation between parents, students and staff and promoting positive community support.
The P&C combines fostering community with fundraising by organising Darra State School community events.
If you have other interests you would like to see happening please email darrastateschoolpandc@gmail.com
The P&C meets twice each term in the Library from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. Check the newsletter and Facebook for the exact dates.
